Water therapy has proved that ‘water is life’ indeed. Read on, to know how ‘water therapy’ can become ‘life theory’

Benefits of water therapy

Water is free and has no calories. The Water Therapy Diet offers your body the amount of water you should consume daily. According to Dr. Griffin a licensed nutritionist, you need a minimum of 8 to 12 cups of water a day and since your body is made up of 55 to 60 percent of water, your body weight is able to fluctuate so dramatically and quickly. The Water Therapy Diet helps keep your water intake stable and consistent.

Water therapy is so simple that it does not require expert supervision or professional guidance. Have a quick look at benefits that can be gained with the help of water therapy. It will almost feel like water is a magical drink.

  • Helps detoxify your body through sweat and urine
  • Helps you get glowing and healthy skin
  • Helps maintain body temperature
  • Help expelling waste products from the body
  • Water therapy helps to control anemia, rheumatism, general paralysis, obesity, arthritis, sinusitis, tachycardia, giddiness, cough, leukemia, bronchitis, meningitis, hyperacidity, dysentery, gastroenteritis, uterus cancer, rectal piodapse, eye-disease, ophthalmic hemorrhage, irregular menstruation, laryngitis, headache and many other diseases

Disadvantage of water therapy

When you do not have a limit for doing things they may become a threat. Too much of a good thing can also pose a harm. This is true in the case of water therapy also. When water intake is not controlled while undergoing water therapy it may cause danger. It is because our body has limited capacity of throwing the excessive water. If this limit is crossed, body can face critical condition known as water poisoning or hyper hydration. This can expose a human body to the risk of brain damage or heart failure.

So to avoid any risk you should always consult professional or doctors before undergoing any such therapy. It is important to know the pros and cons of any treatment, diet or therapy that you plan to take up. Practice water therapy according to given instructions and avoid overdoing it. Remember, too much of anything can be bad. Maintain a balance and enjoy the goodness of the wonder drink called, water.

Human beings can survive approximately 30 to 40 days without food but without water your life can end in 3 to 5 days, says Phyllis A. Balch author of “Prescription for Nutritional Healing.” Without a sufficient amount of water, you can poison yourself with your own metabolic waste or toxins. Inadequate water intake can result in excess body fat, poor muscle tone and digestive problems, to name a few. The water therapy diet may need to be altered for medical purposes and is not backed by scientific documentation; it is imperative to consult with your health practitioner beforehand.

Instructions for following the water therapy

You can prevent and even get rid of health problems by only drinking water. All you have to do is strictly follow these instructions.

  • Drink 4-5 glasses (at least 160 ml per glass )of water as soon as you get up in the morning before brushing your teeth.
  • Don’t eat or drink anything for 45 minutes. After 45 minutes, you may eat and drink.
  • Half an hour to 45 minutes before meals, drink 1 to 2 glasses of water
  • Drink 1 to 2 glasses of water 15 minutes after meals (breakfast, lunch, dinner).
  • You should not eat or drink anything for 2 1/2 hours .
  • Avoid taking alcoholic beverages the previous night
  • Drink water thrice a day if you are suffering from Arthritis or Rheumatism. You should drink 1.5 liters of water each time.
  • Avoid eating or having any other drink one hour before and after drinking water in morning
  • You should continue this routine for one week.
  • Consult your doctor to find out whether water therapy will suit your body or not if you are ill or are already having a health problem.

Initially, the idea of consuming 4 to 5 glasses of water in the morning may seem daunting. However, you can balance it out by drinking 2-3 glasses of water first and then wait a few minutes to drink the other remaining water required. The elderly, sick or those who may be unable to consume sizeable amounts of water may want to start off gradually and then work up to 4 glasses of water. Also, it may be best to use filtered water to diminish any parasites or other harmful substances.

Good Luck!!!

Baking Soda/Water Detoxification

Drinking baking soda or bicarbonate powder, dissolved in water is a folk remedy that has been used for many generations to alleviate the symptoms of indigestion, heartburn, infections and arthritis, among other problems. Baking soda is an alkaline compound that reduces acidity in the body. The typical American diet is highly acidic, which allows many diseases and conditions to develop and flourish. Baking soda, taken in moderate amounts and at appropriate times, promotes healthy biochemistry.

The typical American diet has changed greatly over the last century. In earlier eras, Americans consumed much more fresh vegetables, fruits, dairy products, while only eating moderate amounts of animal-based protein, which contributed to a healthy alkaline environment within the body. In recent decades, the American diet has become based on “fast foods,” refined and processed prepared foods, carbohydrates, sugary drinks and excessive amounts of high-fat meats. Modern diets produce much more acidity within the body, which compromises immunity and causes a variety of symptoms.

Human blood must be alkaline to effectively transport nutrients and waste products, and to exchange oxygen and carbon dioxide with other tissues. Specifically, the blood must measure close to 7.35 on the pH scale, which is a logarithmic measurement of hydrogen ions and acidity. An acidic diet puts the body into a crisis because it threatens to lower the pH measurement of the blood. According to “Biochemical, Physiological and Molecular Aspects of Human Nutrition,” the body reacts by liberating calcium and magnesium from the skeleton and depositing it into the bloodstream and other tissues, which has an alkalizing affect. However, mineral loss weakens and disfigures bones and leads to osteoporosis, osteomalacia and arthritis. Excessive minerals in the bloodstream contribute to atherosclerosis, or hardened arteries. Further, acidity reduces immunity and promotes the growth and proliferation of pathogens, such as bacteria, viruses and parasites.

Benefits of Water & Baking Soda Detox

Drinking baking soda dissolved in water is a quick and affordable method of neutralizing the effects of an acidic diet or meal. Baking soda readily dissolves in water and is absorbed quickly in the intestines. It can be helpful for acid reflex, indigestion or an upset stomach. The carbonation that occurs when baking soda is mixed with water can promote burping, which can relieve excess gas and bloating. According to “Human Biochemistry and Disease,” the alkalinity that occurs with drinking baking soda can dissolve the painful uric acid crystals of gout and relieve the inflammation of arthritis.

Baking soda or sodium bicarbonate works as an antacid to neutralize excess stomach acid and provide relief for heartburn, acid indigestion or an upset stomach, according to the Mayo Clinic. Taking baking soda to reduce stomach acid is a short-term solution to relieve the problem. Restrict your use of baking soda to no more than two weeks. If you have recurrent or persistent symptoms, speak with your doctor. Also, adhere to the specific package directions or your doctor’s instructions for the amount of baking soda to take.

Materials/Methods of Water/Baking Soda Detoxification

  1. Baking soda dissolved in water is best taken between meals. One or two teaspoons of baking soda in an eight ounce glass of purified water twice daily is a common recommendation for people wanting to increase the alkalinity of their body. (If taken with food, it will reduce the effectiveness of the stomach’s acid and compromise digestion. Of course, dietary changes are helpful too, but the baking soda is often easier for people to start with. Some people prefer pure bicarbonate powder, which has the same alkalizing affect).
  2. 1/2 lemon and 1/2 tsp of baking soda in a 12oz of warm(not boiling) water, first thing in the morning. Start prepping for the day and have something to eat after which is usually about 20-30 minutes later…

The mineral properties of Limes and Lemon become very Alkaline when entering the bloodstream.

  1. 1 tsp of baking soda and 3 tsp of honey mix it and put 41 degree warm water , and mix and wait for 10 mints when it dissolve 100% then drink it will help you and you will not feel any pain or bad effects
  2. Step 1 – Pour 1/2 cup of water into a glass.

Step 2 – Add 1/2 tsp. of baking soda. Stir with a spoon.

Step 3 – Drink the mixture every two hours. Do not exceed eight doses per day.

Step 4 – Take any other oral medication at least one or two hours before taking a dose of baking soda. (The baking soda may interference with the effectiveness of other medications if taken too closely together)

Step 5 – 1.            Monitor your sodium intake. One teaspoon of baking soda contains 1,259 milligrams of sodium. The Institute of Medicine’s recommended daily intake for sodium is 1,500 milligrams for an adult with the maximum level being 2,300 milligrams. Consider alternative treatments if you are on a sodium-restricted diet.

Tips and Warnings

Do not drink or use milk products while taking baking soda.

Some side effects associated with taking baking soda include headaches, loss of appetite, nausea or vomiting, slow breathing, frequent urge to urinate and unusual tiredness, according to Mayo Clinic. The chances of negative effects increase with the size of the dose, the length of time you continue to use baking soda and if you have kidney disease.

The effects of the baking soda mixed with the water will line your stomach and usually takes around 20 minutes to 1 hour to kick in.

What is detoxification?

Detoxification is the term used to describe the process your body goes through to get rid of toxins.

You can help your body to detoxify by exercising, reducing or eliminating certain things from your diet, and consuming the right foods, drinks, and supplements. For example, eat raw vegetables and fruit, drink pure water, and take the Daily Essentials

Detoxification is one of the more widely used treatments and concepts in alternative medicine. It is based on the principle that illnesses can be caused by the accumulation of toxic substances (toxins) in the body. Eliminating existing toxins and avoiding new toxins are essential parts of the healing process. Detoxification utilizes a variety of tests and techniques.

Detoxification methods of healing have been used for thousands of years. Fasting is one of the oldest therapeutic practices in medicine. Hippocrates, the ancient Greek known as the “Father of Western medicine,” recommended fasting as a means for improving health. Ayurvedic medicine, a traditional healing system that has developed over thousands of years, utilizes detoxification methods to treat many chronic conditions and to prevent illness.

Detoxification treatment has become one of the cornerstones of alternative medicine. Conventional medicine notes that environmental factors can play a significant role in many illnesses. Environmental medicine is a field that studies exactly how those environmental factors influence disease. Conditions such as asthma, cancer, chronic fatigue syndrome, multiple chemical sensitivity, and many others are strongly influenced by exposure to toxic or allergenic substances in the environment. The United States Centers for Disease Control estimate that over 80% of all illnesses have environmental and lifestyle causes.

Detoxification has also become a prominent treatment as people have become more aware of environmental pollution. It is estimated that one in every four Americans suffers from some level of heavy metal poisoning. Heavy metals, such as lead, mercury, cadmium, and arsenic, are by-products of industry. Synthetic agriculture chemicals, many of which are known to cause health problems, are also found in food, air, and water. American agriculture uses nearly 10lb (4.5 kg) of pesticides per person on the food supply each year. These toxins have become almost unavoidable. Pesticides that are used only on crops in the southern United States have been found in the tissue of animals in the far north of Canada. DDT, a cancer-causing insecticide that has been banned for decades, is still regularly found in the fatty tissue of animals, birds, and fish, even in extremely remote regions such as the North Pole.

The problem of toxins in the environment is compounded because humans are at the top of the food chain and are more likely to be exposed to an accumulation of toxic substances in the food supply. For instance, pesticides and herbicides are sprayed on grains that are then fed to farm animals. Toxic substances are stored in the fatty tissue of those animals. In addition, those animals are often injected with synthetic hormones, antibiotics, and other chemicals. When people eat meat products, they are exposed to the full range of chemicals and additives used along the entire agricultural chain. Detoxification specialists call this build up of toxins bioaccumulation. They assert that the bioaccumulation of toxic substances over time is responsible for many physical and mental disorders, especially ones that are increasing rapidly (like asthma, cancer, and mental illness). As a result, detoxification therapies are increasing in importance and popularity.

Benefits of detoxification

Detoxification is helpful for those patients suffering from many chronic diseases and conditions, including allergies, anxiety, arthritis, asthma, chronic infections, depression, diabetes, headaches, heart disease, high cholesterol, low blood sugar levels, digestive disorders, mental illness, and obesity. It is helpful for those with conditions that are influenced by environmental factors, such as cancer, as well as for those who have been exposed to high levels of toxic materials due to accident or occupation. Detoxification therapy is useful for those suffering from allergies or immune system problems that conventional medicine is unable to diagnose or treat, including chronic fatigue syndrome, environmental illness/multiple chemical sensitivity, and fibromyalgia. Symptoms for those suffering these conditions may include unexplained fatigue, increased allergies, hypersensitivity to common materials, intolerance to certain foods and indigestion, aches and pains, low grade fever, headaches, insomnia, depression, sore throats, sudden weight loss or gain, lowered resistance to infection, general malaise, and disability. Detoxification can be used as a beneficial preventative measure and as a tool to increase overall health, vitality, and resistance to disease.

Toxins in the body include heavy metals and various chemicals such as pesticides, pollutants, and food additives. Drugs and alcohol have toxic effects in the body. Toxins are produced as normal by-products in the intestines by the bacteria that break down food. The digestion of protein also creates toxic by-products in the body.

The body has natural methods of detoxification. Individual cells get detoxified in the lymph and circulatory system. The liver is the principle organ of detoxification, assisted by the kidneys and intestines. Toxins can be excreted from the body by the kidneys, bowels, skin, and lungs. Detoxification treatments become necessary when the body’s natural detoxification systems become overwhelmed. This can be caused by long-term effects of improper diet, stress, overeating, sedentary lifestyles, illness, and poor health habits in general. When a build up of toxic substances in the body creates illness, it’s called toxemia. Some people’s digestive tracts become unable to digest food properly, due to years of overeating and diets that are high in fat and processed foods and low in fiber (the average American diet). When this happens, food cannot pass through the digestive tract efficiently. Instead of being digested properly or eliminated from the bowel, food can literally rot inside the digestive tract and produce toxic by-products. This state is known as toxic colon syndrome or intestinal toxemia.

Detoxification therapies try to activate and assist the body’s own detoxification processes. They also try to eliminate additional exposure to toxins and strengthen the body and immune system so that toxic imbalances won’t occur in the future.

Detoxification symptoms—both physical and mental—may appear when you alter your lifestyle by starting something new, such as changing your diet or exercising, or by discontinuing a current habit, such as consuming a lot of sugar or drinking coffee.

What are the Easiest & Cheapest Ways to get Healthy?

When God created the universe, He gifted the all his creations, living and non–living; place to stay, purpose to exist and abundance of resources to for nourishment. Man was given extra-special attributes being created in his own image and likeness. Man wan is the highest form of creation. Given the brain to think, analyze, process, convert, discover, perform, and most of all free will to choose his path.

Because of this freedom, man went to the extremes of discovery, development, invention, production and implementation which lead to distraction and deterioration of mother earth rather than make it a better and enticing place to live in. Distraction was not limited and confined to the planet we call mother earth but extended to the resources made available to man as free and abundant. These free resources are air, water, space, sunshine and food. Yes, these are necessities for our existence and integral part in in beauty and wellness.

God is so good and generous; He has given us all these necessities for free! But because of our own doings, abundance became scarce.  We have to buy mineral water for assurance that we are not taking in contaminated water. We have to go out of metro to breathe fresh air. We cannot prolong our exposure to the sun because of the thinning ozone layer. Fast & instant food is all over tempting us and craves to have them for lunch, snacks, dinner, etc. We can’t afford to get enough sleep because we are usually caught up in traffic on the way home from the office and we have to watch our favorite late night show on TV.

To get a better understanding how all these affect us, we need to review the benefits we derive from them.

  1. Water
  • Transports nutrients and oxygen into cells

Not being able to maximize the benefits or just even the minimal balance requirements of our body we need to do something to restore the balance. There are lots of ways to do these but we have to spend not only so much time but money. Taking food supplements, taking diet pills, doing some strenuous exercises which most of the time are not effective or they don’t do much because we lack patience in following them.

What are the cheapest and easiest ways to restore the balance in our body to keep healthy?

The answer will also be using the five (5) necessities: water, air, food, sunshine & sleep in doing and performing; Detoxification, Breathe Thin exercises, Therapy & Massage, Alternative & Traditional Medicine and Healthy Recipes.

Basic Bibingka (Rice cake) baking

Basic Bibingka (Rice cake) baking

When we were younger, my parents used “bibingka” to motivate us going to early dawn mass or “Simbang Gabi”. I still remember bibingka being cooked right in front of us. All you have to say is “regular or special”. And the difference is special has egg while regular has none, Unlike today, bibingka recipes have so many ingredients added for added flavor and presentation.

The changes are not limited to the ingredients but also in the method of baking or cooking, In the early days a clay or ceramic stove, a piece of tin and a clay/ceramic pan is all you have to use to make bibingka. Today, aside from the conventional and microwave oven, different models and style of bibingka oven have been crafted.

The Basic Bibingka Recipe

  1. 2 cups long grain or jasmine rice
  2. 3 tablespoons baking powder
  3. ¾ cup  sugar
  4. ¼ teaspoon salt
  5. 1 ¼ cups coconut milk (1 piece coconut)
  6. Shredded coconut for toppings
  7. Clean banana leaves

  1. Grind long grain or jasmine rice into a flour consistency (You can use a rice grinder or a blender or a processor).
  2. Extract 1¼ cup of coconut milk from shredded coconut meat (you can also use a blender to do this).
  3. Mix all dry ingredients – ground rice, baking powder, sugar and salt.
  4. Slowly blend the coconut milk with the mixed dry ingredients.
  5. Stir thoroughly into a thick smooth liquid mix.
  6. Line bibingka pan with soften banana leaves to conformed the pan shape
  7. Scoop 7 spoonful of the mixture into the pan or fill the pan about 3/4.
  8. Put on top of the clay or ceramic stove (with burning coals) & cover it with tin with burning coals also.
  9. Cook for 15 to 20 minutes
  10. Serve hot top with shredded coconut.
 Cooking Tips:
  1. Banana Leaves should be passed over an open flame for a few seconds before use to soften them, so that they do not crack when folded. Alternatively, dip the leaves in boiling water until they just start to soften. They are sold in rectangular sheets in provision shops, supermarket or the local market if you are in the Philippines. If banana leaves are not available substitute with wax paper.
  2. Thick Coconut Milk is obtained by grating the flesh of 1 coconut intobowl (this yields about 3 cups of coconut flesh) Add 1 cup water, knead thoroughly a few times, then squeeze the mixture firmly in your fist or strain in a cheese cloth. If using canned or packet coconut cream, you normally dilute it, adding 1 cup of water to 1 cup of canned or packet coconut cream to obtain thick coconut milk. This mixing ratio is only a general guide however. Different brands of packaged coconut cream vary in thickness, so follow the package instructions.
  3. For a fluffier bibingka, separate the egg whites from the egg yolks. Beat egg whites until stiff and fold into the batter.
